Webasto offers a modern wallbox that can be connected to and controlled by our backend via the OCPP interface.
1. Preparation
-
Internet connection of the wallbox
- Connect your Webasto wallbox to your home network (LAN or WLAN).
Disable the unused connection in the menu, as this can otherwise lead to issues! - Update the wallbox to the latest firmware. You can find it here: https://eu-ota.ampuresoftware.com/ota-files/next/prod/update-bundle-acplus-vota3.1.16.raucb
- Connect your Webasto wallbox to your home network (LAN or WLAN).
-
Prepare credentials and manual

-
Resetting the wallbox
- Reset the wallbox to factory settings under the 'Load management' item in the 'HEMS-DLM' section.
2. Activating the OCPP backend
-
-
Option 1: Via the router

Troubleshooting for the Webasto Next
Q: What can I do if I don't see the HEMS menu?
A: If you do not see the HEMS menu, you can simply enable the expert view in the web interface of your Webasto; the menu should then be visible. The expert view can be activated via the icon at the top right of the screen.
Q: What does the OCPP status message "faulted" mean?
A: The OCPP status message "faulted" on your Webasto NEXT wallbox means that the wallbox has detected an error state.
Q: What are the first steps I should take if an OCPP "faulted" error occurs or the wallbox is not working correctly?
A: Your first attempts should be:
- Check whether the timestamp/time source is set correctly. Under the "System" tab, set the options to "NTP, Heartbeat" (in that order).
- Disconnect the power supply to the wallbox and restart it.
Q: What are common causes for the "faulted" status?
A: Common causes can be:
- Communication issues with the backend (OCPP server)
- Power supply issues (e.g., phase imbalance, incorrect wiring)
- Hardware defects or internal safety mechanisms (e.g., incorrect phase connection during single-phase charging)
- Incorrect configuration in the WebUI (e.g., incorrect number of configured phases)
Q: What should I check in the wallbox WebUI?
A: Check the following in the WebUI (accessible via WLAN hotspot or LAN):
- The OCPP connection settings (server reachability and correct configuration).
- The power supply (ensure phase configuration matches the installation).
- The error display and logs (for more detailed information on the type of error).
Q: What can I do if the wallbox remains in a "faulted" state permanently?
A: In this case, you can try a soft reset or hard reset via the WebUI, or power-cycle the wallbox.
Q: What can I do if the steps above do not help or everything seems to be in order?
A: If the problem persists, you have the following options:
- Have the wallbox connected to a test backend.
- Send the wallbox log file (downloadable in the "System" tab) for analysis.
- Send additional screenshots of the configuration and error messages.
Q: How can I reset my Webasto Next to factory settings?
A: Simply follow this guide
Q: My Webasto sometimes does not display power values.
A: If your car is connected for a long time, it may happen that the Webasto stops transmitting power values. Unplugging and replugging the car should resolve the issue.
Q: Which email address should I contact for problems with Webasto wallboxes?
A: The contact email address is: service.eu@ampure.com
